So I thinking about majoring in food science and doing a 4+1 BS/MS program. I have three college to choose from. Can someone in the food science field help me decide?
Michigan State University:
Pros: they have really good electives , 4+1 program, cheaper. Cons: location
Rutgers:
Pros: location, good connection since it’s by New Jersey, 4+1 program. Cons: no electives, and very expensive
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign:
Pros: electives, cheapest, near Chicago. Cons: no 4+1 program, no diary science
I want to do R&D and I want to specialize/ go into confectionery, or snack food (I.e. chips, pretzels), dairy or beverage. I’m so conflicted in what to choose. Can someone who has gone to either of these school and or major in food science tell me which one is the best choice.
thanks you for your feedback!
