Albion's Safety Problem - Forum Thread Summary

The original thread has 22,000 views and 187 replies. It's been making the rounds.

Main points:

  • The game is supposed to reward risk but is now drowning in safety
  • Solo dungeons close almost instantly
  • Group dungeons are too easy to protect and farm
  • Players dodge PvP with zero effort
  • Most guilds chill in safe spots like Morgan’s Rest or Smuggler’s Network grinding maps and dungeons instead of fighting

This turned sandbox PvP into low-risk instanced grinding.

Risk vs Reward is broken People print silver with almost no danger. Black Market gets flooded while real PvP losses are minimal. No tension left, you rarely feel like you can lose anything.

Escaping is way too easy Gathering and open world should be dangerous, but you can just dip into Avalonian Roads, Smuggler zones, or the Mists. Mists especially killed player interaction. Gatherers almost never die, PvP players can’t find fights, open world feels dead.

Guilds lost their purpose Most guilds became farming crews and silver printers instead of fighting for territory and dominance. Why start wars when safe money is better?

Bottom line The optimal play is avoiding PvP as much as possible. That’s backwards for a full-loot PvP game.

What do you think? Is Albion too safe now? How has the black zone changed over the years?
