Anyone here with zero experience start out of the blue in their 40s and find even modest success?

I've got some ideas I've never seen anyone else do, but honestly it just seems like an insurmountable hill right now. I know I should do it for fun and not solely to get published, but I'm also realistic with life.

Learn how to use double doors!

I don't know why it is so hard to apply the "rules of the road" to buildings with double doors. I always see people literally standing in front of the available door on the right, waiting for people to pass through the left so they can also go there. Or people holding the (wrong) door for someone coming in the opposite direction, jamming up the people behind the door holder.

EDIT: I'm not referring to when one is locked. That's not anyone's fault!
