We’ve recently come across several fire pit areas on the beach where used pallets have been burned. Unfortunately, what’s left behind is hundreds of rusty nails, metal connector plates, and even broken beer bottles scattered throughout the sand and ashes.
This creates a serious hazard for people walking barefoot, children playing in the sand, and dogs or other animals.
If youre planning a beach fire, please do not burn pallets. Stick to clean, untreated firewood.
