Laundry Room Drain Flies
We have a hole in the middle of our laundry room to drain any flood water. To my understanding, it’s just a p trap connected to the main drain. A plumber snaked it a few months ago.
We also had a minor drain fly problem throughout the house exacerbated by some renovations but was solved after I poured bleach down all the drains.
Fast forward to today, I saw the drain hole shimmering the reflected light and opened the cap to see a hole pile of drain fly larvae 😷 it literally looks like more solid than water. I poured bleach which seemed to kill the majority but how can I dispose of this mess before the living ones hatch and so it’s not sitting there? There haven’t been any adults flying around minus a couple that came out after I poured bleach. I am dealing with some spiders too so this isn’t helping. I have it taped off until resolution, which, I know, defeats the purpose of the drain, but I am not letting these things come flying into the house. Thanks in advance
