I heard a lot of things about both.

econ at ucla is super hard, heavy math, grade curves are horrible, and its really hard to keep a high GPA.

while in uci is more theory, but lack the practical come of economics, so it doesn’t prepare you on the future work you will have to put on. But is less stressful than ucla’s

i’m taking this major because it gives me more opportunities in the market, and also i’m planning (not 100% sure) to go to law school, which a high gpa is essential. I know that i could take political science, english or philosophy for law school. But as i said i’m not 100% more like 75%, and if i don’t apply, my econ degree still could give me a lot of opportunities.

idk what to do and i’m super confused.

So I got accepted into UCLA (my dream school) as a transfer (Econ), and after reading a lot of posts about Econ at UCLA (super hard), I’m confused on what to do. And since my goal after school is going to law school (where a super high GPA is a must), I don’t know if it is a good idea to do a major that could lower your GPA. I got A’s in both my Calc classes, and in Micro- and Macroeconomics. What should I do? Should I stick with it and actually put in the effort to maintain a 4.00? Or change majors at UCLA? Or go to another UC?
