Hello to everyone. I finished reading Blood Meridian a few weeks ago, and I found it fascinating. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me exactly what weapons the Gang (and CPT White's filibusters) were wielding. I am especially intrigued by the so called "rifles". I know what a Bowie knife is, and I suppose they were using early revolvers, but the rifles part, I don't understand. Are they like muskets? I mean it's too early for them to carry something like a Winchester, right? I know the confederate army had to provide half its army with muskets, so "rifles" in the modern sense had to be difficult to come by 15 years before that, right? Anyway thank you in advance!! Also I don't think they'll ever make a movie. I wouldn't watch it if they did
