Back in 2018 i got diagnosed with hypothyroidism when i was trying to get help with my depression, my TSH was high and my t3&t4 were normal. After a few follow ups i landed on a 75mg dose of levothyroxine which got my TSH into the normal range, but I didn't feel any different so i stopped. Over the years i have had my t3,t4&TSH tested several times, and it's always the same with high TSH normal t3&t4. I also tested my TPOab once in a private blood test and it was normal. Last time i talked to a doctor i asked if it was possible to try to figure out the root cause, but was basically told that's not something you do.

I have been thinking about maybe giving it another try with medicine to see if i feel any better (still depressed), but i would still really like to know why my thyroid is the way it is. Is it possible? Does it even matter if levothyroxine is the fix anyway?

At the time of diagnosis i (male) was 22 years old who had just lost a lot of weight with keto& one meal a day, yet they just wanted me to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life without trying to figure out a why, is this normal?
