What tools are y'all carrying?

Installing this Kohler and it has these holes I've never seen and truly don't think are normal. Anyone run into this? They are not symmetrical, one is mostly sealed, seems like a shit cast job. Should I be returning this thing asap I guess I could squirt some water in it and see where it ends up, but figured I'd ask the pros first.
