About the Campaign

I’m looking for a few players to join Blood Hollow, a dark, atmospheric D&D campaign set in a world I’ve been building for 9 years.

This is a slow-burn folk horror experience focused on:

  • Deep roleplay
  • Unsettling mystery
  • Emotional tension
  • A living, breathing setting that reacts to you

If you’re looking for a lighthearted dungeon crawl, this isn’t that.

If you want something that lingers with you after the session ends, keep reading.

The Setting: MorVow (“Blood Hollow”)

Between the black waters of the Rynmoor River and the fog-choked moors lies a hamlet that seems to sink into the land itself.

MorVow is a place where:

  • Lanterns hang on every corner… and are never allowed to go out
  • The ground sighs beneath your feet
  • Blue flames drift across the marsh at night
  • Bells toll through the fog for no clear reason

You hear it before you see it:
low songs in the mist, wind through the reeds, and something in the river that may know your name.

The villagers are kind.

They just watch a little too long.

The People

Pale, quiet folk with stormwater eyes.

They speak in softened, old dialects.
They drink deep red wine.
They follow traditions they never question.

>

No one is rich.

No one starves.

No one leaves.

Notable Places

The Weeping Lantern Inn
A leaning inn lit by a sleepless flame. Guests sometimes hear singing beneath the floorboards.

Chapel of Saint Thren
A shrine to the “half-dead.” The priest leads hymns that make candles flicker in rhythm. Some say he casts no shadow.

Market Hollow
A sunken bazaar selling root charms, bone trinkets, and blood-sealed wine. Beneath it lies something locked away.

Rynmoor Bridge
A narrow span of black stone. If you stop at its center… something may stir below.

Customs & Beliefs

  • Night of Returning Breath – Candles guide “those who never left” back home
  • Whispering Wells – Three wells, never drink from the same one twice
  • The Mari Gwaed’s Path – Each winter, something ancient walks through the village

Rumors

  • The inn’s lantern may burn on blood
  • The village is untouched by outside authority… for a reason
  • Beneath the market: “The vow breathes beneath the veil.”

Play as an Outsider… or a Local

Outsiders

Drawn here by fate, mistake, or something worse.

You don’t understand MorVow.

Not yet.

Locals

You may choose to play someone born in MorVow — shaped by its customs and quiet horrors.

Locals:

  • Know the rules… and which ones are never broken
  • Treat the unnatural as normal
  • Have seen things they don’t explain

You might:

  • Work at the Weeping Lantern Inn
  • Serve the Chapel of Saint Thren
  • Trade in Market Hollow
  • Or simply be someone who has never tried to leave

Local Hooks (we’ll build together):

  • You’ve heard the river whisper your name
  • You remember someone no one else does
  • There’s a place in the marsh you refuse to go
  • You’ve taken part in the Night of Returning Breath
  • Something in MorVow recognizes you

Locals start with partial truths, not answers.
Some things you “know”… may not be true.

Game Details

  • System: D&D 5e (with narrative tweaks & Homebrew)
  • Tone: Dark Fantasy / Folk Horror
  • Style: Roleplay-heavy, immersive, slow-burn
  • Players: Looking for a small, dedicated group
  • Platform: Discord and Roll20 [might be moving the foundry in the future]
  • Schedule: time has not been set but Saturday works for me but anytime of the week works for me
  • Experience: New players welcome (if you enjoy RP)

The Hook

You weren’t meant to come to MorVow.

But something brought you here.

And now that you’ve arrived…

the land remembers you.

How to Apply

DM me with:

  • Name / Pronouns
  • Age
  • D&D experience
  • Preferred playstyle (RP, combat, mix)
  • Character idea (optional)
  • Are you interested in playing a local or outsider?

  • The Mari Gwaed’s Path – Each winter, something ancient walks through the village

Rumors

  • The inn’s lantern may burn on blood
  • The village is untouched by outside authority… for a reason
  • Beneath the market: “The vow breathes beneath the veil.”

Play as an Outsider… or a Local

Outsiders

Drawn here by fate, mistake, or something worse.

You don’t understand MorVow.

Not yet.

Locals

You may choose to play someone born in MorVow — shaped by its customs and quiet horrors.

Locals:

  • Know the rules… and which ones are never broken
  • Treat the unnatural as normal
  • Have seen things they don’t explain

You might:

  • Work at the Weeping Lantern Inn
  • Serve the Chapel of Saint Thren
  • Trade in Market Hollow
  • Or simply be someone who has never tried to leave

Local Hooks (we’ll build together):

  • You’ve heard the river whisper your name
  • You remember someone no one else does
  • There’s a place in the marsh you refuse to go
  • You’ve taken part in the Night of Returning Breath
  • Something in MorVow recognizes you

Locals start with partial truths, not answers.
Some things you “know”… may not be true.

Game Details

  • System: D&D 5e (with narrative tweaks & Homebrew)
  • Tone: Dark Fantasy / Folk Horror
  • Style: Roleplay-heavy, immersive, slow-burn

You weren’t meant to come to MorVow.

But something brought you here.

And now that you’ve arrived…

the land remembers you.

>
