But they should take into account the fact that the other second generation characters had been fighting for years and outside of a few exceptions (like Johan) most of them received proper training even if their teachers weren't as great as Gun or Sophia.

Even Johan was only able to catch up with BoS Jake after more than two years of fighting thugs on the streets (he was the weakest crewhead when he fought the other three during Jake's Backstory Arc) and Little Daniel's starting point was worse than Johan (fat + mentally weak), plus everyone else had gotten much stronger compared to their BoS selves by the time Daniel started his diet under Sophia so the gap between Little Daniel and them was far greater.

It would be simply impossible to catch up to the others' years of experience in such a short time through normal means.
