A couple friends and I are putting together a masquerade style social night in San Jose this June and wanted to get a feel for what people here actually enjoy at these kinds of events.

The vibe we’re going for is:

• dress up a little
• masks encouraged
• good music
• easy way to meet new people without the weird “networking event” energy

For people who’ve gone to similar events before:

• what made it genuinely fun?
• what immediately killed the vibe for you?

Trying to avoid making it feel cheesy, cliquey, or overly clubby.
