Holding on to Infinite Surge
Have a high surge (50% and above) , but it disappears after you decline a ride and the surge is gone. Well, I discovered a strange workaround. I've tested this several times and had never failed. If you know this already, Kudos, but I'll explain to those who don't.
Here's how I do it.
This is how you don't lose your surge bonus to a shitty ride offer that you have to accept, but if you decline, you lose the bonus. I found a way to keep it going forever.
NOTE: I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 in case that matters, but this should work on most Android phones.
Obtain a high surge (surge zone disappears for whatever reason)
Get a shitty ride offer. Don't accept it
immediately close the app and go into Lyft app settings.
Force stop the app and then clear the temporary cache
Note: You need to force stop and clear temporary cache within 7 seconds of receiving the offer.
- App is now closed and cleared. Now, wait 20 seconds and reopen the app.
Note: Now, when you open the app, it puts you back online and passes the ride you didn't want, and you still have a surge bonus.
I was able to hold on to my 120% flash bonus for over an hour after the surge was gone and then repeated these steps until I received an offer for $80 at $75 per hour.
I'm not sure exactly what's happening, but I absolutely know this works. and the ride you skipped doesn't count against your AR either.
I've never been flagged for misuse of the app.
what I'm thinking is that by force closing the app, It thinks you just lost connection instead of what's really happening.
I hated losing my surge when the surge is gone, and then they send you on the cheapest ride offer. Now, I have the power to wait and carry the surge until I get offered the ride that I want.
If this works for you, great. if it doesn't for you🤷♀️
