Curious about toilet bolts and double nutting
So, I installed a new toilet and my FIL's house. Ive done this before with no major issues, but the bolts that mount the toilet to the flange came with with a small hex nut, a wing nut, and only rhe plastic washer that connects to the little cover piece. Anyhow, the next bolt seems to small to secure the bolt to the flange, so I used the wingnut for that, and then mounting the toilet with the plastic washer and hex nut. Is that the right order? Im worried the wing nut is going to rub against the underside of the toilet, but I might just be paranoid.
