Is it normal for bosses to act like this?
I 20f started a new job recently and have noticed a slight pattern amongst some bosses. A manager is stressed for reasons unrelated to the other employees but speaks in an angry tone and even says some things just because they're in a bad mood.
For example, it was my 6th working day at the company and things are still getting set up. It was 8am in the morning, mind you I get there on time while the manager and the other employee I work with are both late everyday for the 7.30am start. I got to work straight away and eventually there were some things that needed to be set up. We essentially didn't have enough power points under my desk so we spent two minutes reshuffling same cables to make things work. While we were doing this the manager went into another manager's office and they were discussing some problems that were coming up with billing. She came out and started reprimanding us for wasting time and not being productive, then she tried to fix our problem and wasted another two minutes by making it worse when we already had everything handled?
I've been warned about this manager by another manager, and the person I was working with kind of apologised on the snappy manager's behalf and said she was stressed.
I used to work in a warehouse where one of the supervisors acted the same way, he was fine until he was stressed then he'd start becoming angry for no reason. People would be minding their own business, getting work done, but he'd find something small to be angry about. For clarification, I was not the only employee to notice this.
I work at a logistics company if it matters, I do a mix of sales and logistics. I'm not really angry but I'm starting to notice repetitive behaviour and I'm just wondering if it's normal to not be okay with it. I'm not angry about what happened but it does make me put my guard up and be careful.
