Hey everyone,
I’m a 4th-year Media and Arts student specializing in sound design (audio for media/games). My current plan is to graduate, work for a few years, pay off my student debt, and save money, with the long-term goal of moving to Japan and working in a media-related field (ideally game audio or similar).
I’ve already done an exchange in Japan and I’m actively studying Japanese, since I know language skills are essential for working there.
My question is: how realistic does this plan sound if I aim to move in about 5 years? I’d likely be around 36 by then.
I’m especially interested in hearing from people working in Japan (or who have moved there) how difficult was it to find work, and what would you recommend focusing on during those 5 years to improve my chances?
Thanks in advance!
