I'm horribly allergic to poison ivy and have started removing it from the land around a new house I'm building. Seriously, I'm starting to wake up with 3-leaf nightmares because I have to get close enough to it to cut it or spray it and there is so much I simply can't avoid it at times.

I'm someone who really loves native plants and tries to use them in my garden as much as possible. But I've got literal scars on my arms from my last poison ivy contact. My question is, does poison ivy do anything worth keeping it around for? Sure animals eat it, but I've already got plenty of food available on my plot of land. Thoughts?
