Travel coach and my kid is at the bottom of the depth chart...
I've been coaching my son's travel baseball team for a couple years now. My son is one of the youngest on the team by anywhere from a year to to 8 or 9 months younger then probably half 75% the team. We're at 9u. There's definitely a very big divide between my top player and my son. And my son is intimidated and has really started to shut down. He was really thriving at wreck this season but it wasn't translating to the travel team. The last few games he has cooled down at rec as well and he's not putting up competitive at bats right now. He's just looking for walks for now. We have tryouts coming up and I'm seriously considering both of us leaving the travel team since he's not as competitive as the other kid.... this slump couldn't have come at a worse time. What would you do in my situation?
