Poker Night (Lore writing)
It had been a long year since the departure from magical politics. Masta looked as if she matured a bit from the whole experience, the weight of responsibility, the death of others put things in perspective, and with all the magic and willpower in the world she realized chaos can still happen. It didn’t stop her from still doing her best.
Now she spends her day trying her best to figure out her family and their many quirks, she spent so many days buried in paper work and magical warfare that things changed so much for them. Her wife Inferno went through a change, she now wings most angelic. Her sister Logotu is still a goober but still going through her own goals. Hell, even the kids have grown a bit too. Guess being half dragon they grow up fast. Even little Alley, her daughter now knows how to speed up her aging.
Masta looks outside and wonders to herself
“Guess the world keeps spinning whether I am involved with them or not.”
She looks down and she notices she is accidentally burning the table with her pyromancy.
“Shit… put it out, put it out, Masta what are you doing you have magic. Deep breaths Masta” she says as she calms herself
She puts it out and realizes she needs a break from all the heavy thought and just needs a break. She walks around and sees a deck of playing cards.
“Sounds like a fun idea” Masta said to herself
one chat later with her sister and wife they both agreed to a poker night
Later that night
Masta puts down the cards and grabs her wife and sister. Both are still a little tired but they sit at the table. Inferno started to deal cards and the game was Texas hold’em.
“Okay so uhh how do you play this game?” Said Logotu
Inferno puts a book down and points to the rules
“Do you get it now sis?” Inferno said
“Uhhh, yeah sure lets do this” said Logotu
she had no idea, what transpired in the next 2 hours was nothing short of… well.. yeah
“I raise, your turn dear” Masta said happily
“I raise also, Logotu?”said Inferno looking at her.
She has a card in her mouth and starts to nom on her Ace and thinks to herself and is thinking if she had Exodia she could have won.
The next hand
“Right leg of Exodia and i turn the River” Said Inferno
“I have a card with a cheeseburger on it” said Logotu
she noms on that card
A few hands later…
“Uhhh, I guess I summon the Egyptian god cards?” said Masta
“You activated my trap card” said both of them to Masta
“Counterspell!”
“Counter-Counter spell”
“Silvery barbs!!!”
All three looked at each other with the intensity of an anime fight and decided this was gonna be the last hand.
“All in” said Masta and Inferno together
Both look at Logotu, she now has a poker chip in her mouth eating it like a potato chip.
All three start laughing at each other on how silly the game has gotten. They threw the cards down, Inferno won but in some ways Masta was the real winner. She felt something she hasn’t felt in a long time, she felt she belonged. No longer feeling really alone she took a sec to appreciate it all.
“Gonna call it ladies” said Logotu
She wraps herself in a blanket like a burrito and crashes on the couch.
“Think it's time we consider sleeping to dear” said Inferno
Inferno looks at Masta but for instance she sees a tear run down her face.
“Thank you for still being here” said Masta weakly but happily
Inferno picks Masta up and carries her to bed
“We will always be dear.”said Inferno lovingly.
