The thing that makes Summer House such a successful show is the passionate divided opinions of the fanbase towards its stars.
I'm an avid trash TV watcher and I got sucked into the Bravoverse a couple of years ago, so like many of us, I'm no stranger to the various fandoms of the reality TV world. The thing that sets this show and fandom apart from other reality shows to me is how constantly divided the fandom is about certain things. Depending on who you ask, Kyle Cooke is either a fun, youthful character who is also a hard worker, or he's a workaholic Peter Pan type who refuses to grow up and settle down. Carl is either a redeemed fuck boy who found himself after great tragedy, or he's a serial manipulator who does the same shit he used to do but now has the therapy language to make it look more legitimate. Lindsay is either a fierce, unaplogetic role model for women, or she's an irrational bitch that destroys every relationship she's in.
Usually reality shows have clear defined roles for their lead characters, but with Summer House the line between villain and hero is murkier than most shows, so I applaud the storytelling and the characters themselves. This is a drunk ramblefest, but I'm just enjoying the show and the fan base right now at one of its most exciting moments. Just remember to try and not take any of this too seriously, y'all. At the end, they're all kinda shitty and fun.
