Location: Upstate NY- river bed, specifically near the prehistoric forest locations of Cairo/Gilboa
Description:
specimen is about 3-4 inches in a rough cube.
Jet black and smooth with cracks/striations all running in the same direction. Black material is attached to porous tan rock (sticks to tongue with test)
Non magnetic. surface of black material has some slight shimmer flake crystallization which you can sort of see in the last 2 pictures. not sure of hardness but feels very dense.
