I have 12 exotic orchids right now. I’m new to taking care of them and I want to make sure I’m doing it right. For my Cattleyas I have them straight in bark in a terracotta pot so they’re not in their original plastic containers. My brassavola nodosa and yellow bird are also both in better gro bark in a terracotta pot. For my other ones I have them in their original plastic containers sitting in a terracotta pot. I have an oncidium sherry baby, miltonopsis, Dendrobium aggregatum, Dendrobium spectabile, vanilla bean orchid, and maxillaria tenuifolia. They all sit on my window seal or on a stand in front of the window so they get plenty of light and I’m watering them every Sunday. Every other week I water them with bettergro orchid plus fertilizer and every 4th week I will use bettergro orchid better bloom fertilizer. My main concern is if I’m not watering them enough… because some of them it says to water consistently so should I water Sunday and Thursday? Or water Sunday and just mist them on Thursday? Should I be misting all of them and watering twice a week? I don’t take them out of the terracotta pot I just water straight into the pot and I keep my ceiling fan on to let them get air circulation. Is this a good routine any critiques?
