I’m a 21-year-old trans woman (6’2”, 155 lbs) trying to break into fashion e-commerce modeling. I’m comfortable modeling both men’s and women’s clothing and feel like I have a pretty versatile look, but the one thing holding me back is figuring out the right hairstyle.
Here’s a couple recent photos of me with my current style (auburn mid back length twists). My natural hair is a medium-length afro when I leave it alone, I can also blow it out and straighten it but even than it only adds a few inches at the most. I’m not a fan of braids, so I’d like to move away from that. I’m looking for a signature hairstyle that complements my face shape, height, and lean build and would photograph well for commercial/fashion work.
Any recommendations for cuts, styles, or even specific looks that could become “my thing”? I’d love to hear what you think would translate best on camera and in e-commerce shoots even if you suggest braids.
