So the PSL has ended and it has kinda left me confused on what to do next. Like the next World Cup is in Australia so we at least need 4 Fast Bowlers and like our current Pace Attack is Shaheen, Salman and Naseem with Waseem Jnr as a Replacement. So now who do you see in our Current Bowling Lineup. Don't say names like Ali Raza, he still needs to do a lot of work, he's 18.

And also mention the Spinner and All Rounders you guys want to see in Australia.

Like after this PSL Season, I am confused about Salman Mirza, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq. Like I had high expectations for them but they didn't really deliver up to the expectations. And should Muhammad Basit get a National Cap? He was the Breakout Player for me this PSL.

Every season after PSL ends, the discourse is always the same. "This guy needs to be in the national team." "Give him a chance." "He carried his franchise." That energy is fun, it means the league is doing its job of producing talent. But this year felt genuinely different, and not in a good way.

The players getting talked about for national team spots are almost entirely people who already played for Pakistan. Shan Masood, Maaz Sadaqat, Sufyan Muqeem, Arafat Minhas, Abdul Samad and like Muhammad Haris. Good players, yes, and there is a case for some of them getting a second look in white ball cricket. But that is a very different conversation from discovering someone new. We are not finding players, we are rediscovering old ones.

And then there is the other side of the discourse which is just as loud. People want Salman Ali Agha out. Saim Ayub out. Khawaja Nafay out. Salman Mirza out. Usman Tariq out. Fair enough, those debates have been around for a while. But if you are going to clear out half the squad, you need to have answers. Who comes in? Because this PSL did not give us many.

The players I genuinely went into this season watching closely were Abbas Afridi (11.24 Economy), Abdullah Shafique and like Haseebullah and others. The fast bowlers as well, some of the younger pace options people have been hyping for a while. Most of them disappointed. Either too expensive with the ball, not consistent enough with the bat, or just not doing anything that screams "this person changes the equation for Pakistan." You have to be exceptional in PSL to force the selectors' hand, and most of them were not.

The honest question this season is forcing us to ask is whether the current Pakistan T20 squad, flaws and all, is actually close to what our best available looks like right now. Not because those players are irreplaceable, but because the replacements are not ready yet.

Like Sameer Minhas is way too young to be in the National Side. Iftimania was also good season but he's way too old. Like did we really find any new talents this season. Like no Breakout performances. The players expected to fail failed and players expected to dominate dominated. We found no new talent this season.

So did we really find any new talent in this season?
