For anyone preparing for GATE right now and feeling stuck — this is just a small reminder.

Some days you’ll solve questions easily, and some days even basic concepts won’t click. Mock scores will go up and down, and it can feel frustrating.

But honestly, what matters most is showing up every single day — even if it’s just revising one subject or solving a few questions.

GATE prep is less about motivation and more about consistency. Those small, daily efforts may not feel like much now, but over time they build a strong base.

Sooner or later, things do start falling into place.

Just don’t stop.

I also used to think that I’m too old now for the IIT route. But the beauty of M.Tech is that there’s no age limit.

At the end of the day, it’s more about where you want to go rather than when you start. So maybe the right time is actually now.

Anyone else felt the same?

This might sound controversial, but sometimes I genuinely feel people are underestimating GATE DA way too much.

Everyone keeps running behind the traditional CS route, while the industry is rapidly moving towards AI, ML, data, and automation. Yet a lot of students still ignore GATE DA as if it has no future.

The funny part is that many people who say “DA has less scope” are the same ones trying to enter AI/ML later through courses and certifications.

I’m not saying CS is bad at all — it’s still an amazing and safe option. But completely ignoring DA right now feels like missing where the industry is heading.

What do you all think?

Is GATE DA still underrated, or are people avoiding it for valid reasons?

Hey everyone, I’ve been noticing something lately and wanted to get your thoughts on it.

Why are comparatively fewer students and working professionals opting for the GATE DA paper? Given how much hype and growth there is around AI/ML, I expected more people to take it seriously.

Is there any specific reason behind this?

Lack of awareness?

Fewer opportunities through DA compared to CS?

Uncertainty about career prospects?

Or is it still too new for people to trust?

Would love to hear your opinions and experiences on this.

Hey everyone, I’m aiming for a serious GATE attempt and wanted some realistic guidance.

If someone is not doing anything else (no job/college distractions) and can fully dedicate their time to preparation — how many months of preparation are generally required to target an under 500 rank?

Also, would love to hear experiences and strategies specifically for both GATE CS and GATE DA:

Is the preparation timeline different for CS vs DA?

How should one structure their daily/weekly study plan?

What worked best for you (test series, revision strategy, etc.)?

Looking for honest insights from people who have achieved or seriously attempted for top ranks 🙏

Hey folks, I’m trying to decide which direction to take for GATE and could really use some guidance.

Lately, it feels like the tech industry is shifting from traditional SWE/SDE roles more towards AI/ML and data-related domains. So thinking a bit long-term (say 5+ years from now), I’m wondering:

Which types of jobs will actually be in demand?

Which domain looks more promising and sustainable over the next decade?

Given this, I’m confused about whether I should prepare for GATE DA (Data Science & AI) or stick with GATE CS.

Would love to hear insights from people in the industry or those preparing for GATE — what would you choose and why?

Hey everyone, I’m a bit confused about my career path and would really appreciate some honest opinions.

Currently, I’m working at a job with around 4 LPA. I see two possible options ahead:

Prepare for GATE for 1 year, get into an IIT, spend 2 years there, and aim for something like ~25 LPA after graduating.

Stay in the industry, switch 2 companies over the next 3 years, and try to reach ~25 LPA through experience.

Both paths seem to take roughly the same time, but with very different efforts and risks.

For those who’ve been in similar situations or have seen both sides — which option do you think is better in the long run? Is IIT really worth the time and effort compared to switching jobs?

Would love to hear your thoughts 🙏

Hi all,

I’m starting my preparation for GATE DA 2027 and my goal is to get a decent rank so I can get into a good IIT.

I wanted help with:

how to begin preparation

important subjects/topics to prioritize

good resources and mock tests

Any honest advice, preparation roadmap, or common mistakes to avoid would really help.
