Hope for a serious noise complaint?

Hello all - I wonder if anyone can reflect on their experience with noise complaints in Brookline?

Background: My apartment shares a parking lot with a long line of single-family homes, ONE of which contains, I think, a college-aged son who returns for breaks and summer vacations. Reliably, every week, this single house will play extremely loud music at least once a week, throw backyard parties, and play basketball until midnight, with lots of hollering and cursing by a group of guys.

It goes straight into my eardrums; the noise is inside my home, I promise you. Windows closed doesn't make a difference.

I've been dreading summer for a while this year, knowing he's gonna come back.

If I repeatedly call the non-emergency noise violation police #, will they go by the house each time...? Is there a smarter way to handle it? I've asked the parents to try to get their son to cool it, but if they've delivered the message, he doesn't seem to be listening.

Any advice on getting this under control is greatly appreciated. It just bums me out so much that one house, surrounded by hundreds of neighbors, can make living conditions so unpleasant. I just wanna sleep in my bed, not a couch as far from the noise as I can get.
