Carmustine implants

how big of a difference do they make in tumor suppression? my mother never got any and now i'm scared if we screwed up. she had a right sided lesion 85% of which, according to her surgeon was removed. any further and they it would've caused her permanent brain damage and vision loss, they said. she had a right sided lesion on her brain. to quote her report:

intra-axial lesion neoplastic lesion involving right superior parietal lobe in para sagittal and para ventricular region encompassing and compressing the occipital horn of right lateral ventricle.

there's still a portion of it left and i only just read about these implants that are placed in brain to deliver the drug directly to aggressive fast growing gliomas. we never even discussed this with her team and the doctors didn't suggest it either. is it more efficient than oral chemo? anyone here who knows more about how this works? i have a feeling that we messed up by not knowing who this.

Dexamethasone withdrawal

when the dosage is gradually lowered is it normal for patients to have slight headaches or occasional dizziness? apologies in advance. i know y'all are sick of me because i posted something like this before but idk i'm so worried that my mother's steroid dose will end up getting increased coz every time it's lowered to 2-1mg she ends up having headaches.

the thing is that her tumor was huge and to make it worse it bled. according to her oncologist she also had a stroke. CT scans and MRI revealed that the bleed was huge both before the surgery and after it, the latter they said not to worry about because that's natural post tumor resection.

she has been taking dexamethasone since january and the one time, around late jan when her dosage stopped after tapering, she had a headache exactly like the one she had the first time it all started so we rushed her to the ER where MRI was done and it revealed that her edema had only increased. it had only been 2-3 days of no dexa btw. they got her back on it and the thing is her sugars are constantly high throughout the day like we got a 200+ reading five times this month. her doctor said it's because of steroids and she doesn't need any sugar meds but since the day her dexa got lowered she's having mild headaches again. we'll take her to the hospital if, god forbid, it gets worse but seriously when does this stop? to the people suffering from this, i guess what i want to know is that is every headache a sign of immediate danger and a reason to rush to the ER even if she's vitally stable or is it okay to have it occasionally or after stopping steroids?

my mother who had her last session of radiation and chemo on March 30th has not had complain of vertigo/dizziness since the first month after her surgery, not even during radiation until today since morning. i noticed she almost fell down when she woke up for the loo at least twice but i thought that's because she had just woken up from deep sleep but just now we were sitting in the living room perfectly awake and alert, she got up and the same thing happened again.

this time she actually described it as "feeling lightheaded" now idk but the fact that she suddenly experienced this now after months has terribly worried me. is this a danger sign? a symptom of recurrence? she's stable but these few moments of dizziness are scaring me. what do the symptoms of recurrence actually look like?

Note: she's having her dexamethasone dosage tapered so maybe it's because that. obviously we notified it to her oncologist but i would like to know how long is this medicine usually continued in gbm patients? is it probably too early to taper it off? anyone who's experienced this do share it please.
