I booked a package deal with Expedia from Dallas to Costa Rica in June. My flight to Costa Rica got canceled because Spirit shut down, and the wait for customer service was 8 hours long (they never called me back either, even though I was on a wait list). It was the last day to cancel my hotel reservations and other flights. I decided to cancel everything in hopes of getting my money back, since rebooking wasn't an option, since I couldn't afford to rebook. My flight back from Costa Rica was supposed to be on Southwest, but they refunded me in credits. I called customer service, and they told me the only way I could use my credits is for a return flight from Costa Rica to Dallas. I cannot do that since I cannot afford to go to Costa Rica anymore. They won't let me apply my credits to a new package, and I can't find a flight and hotel I can afford now. They also won't let me use my credits on any other flight it has to be a return flight from Costa Rica to Dallas. I called Southwest, and they said there is nothing they can do since Expedia has my money, not them. We lost a little over 1k on these flights, and they are refusing to help us. I already filed a complaint with the BBB. How can I get a refund or have them send my credit to Southwest so I can book a flight without Expedia?
