Brake discs and pads need changing after just 14k miles?
My 2024 Mazda3 has suddenly developed a squeeking noise coming from the front. I took it to the dealer here in Sheffield, UK and was told that I need new break discs and pads, of course out of warranty, because it's wear and tear. 600£.
I'm really surprise because I've only had the car for 1.5. years and drove about 14k miles. No aggressive driving. Mostly commuting, admittedly in a hilly city.
Furthermore, the car went through its annual service in December with no advisories whatsoever.
So I wanted to ask if this is an expected wear and tear pace and what's other owners'experience with these parts /issues.
