Hey Everyone, hoping to get some advice and hoping this helps other people in the same situation. TIA.
I have been at Amazon for 5 years as a SDE. This year my team split and I got a new manager. Your general Amazon robot(never shows emotion). And here is my situation.
• L5 SDE at Amazon, currently week 6 of Focus
• Filing I-485 (Adjustment of Status for green card) next week. I-140 already approved
• Based in NYC
I am trying to maximize getting paid, buying time and the best situation would be going FMLA for a few months and then getting pipped. My manager set me up for failure by giving me a hella ambiguous project. Basically everyone was fired and I was supposed to figure out a legacy system built 15 years ago.
Moving on, has anyone been in this situation? Should I get on FMLA right now or when I they serve me option of going through with PIP or taking a severance?
There are plenty of posts saying that focus gets on pause when you get on FMLA while others deny that.
How does Amazons medical leave of absence factor in? Can I use that in addition to the pip?
Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.
