I have an all wheel drive 2009 Volvo XC90 that is making a consistent thumping sound as I drive. It speeds up and slows with acceleration and feels like it's gotten louder recently. I think it's coming from the front end rather than the rear end of the car.

My issue is that I'm unsure if it's a CV joint or if it's a bearing. It doesn't make any clicking sounds while turning in either directions or while make hard turns. It's actually almost silent when making hard turns either direction and there isn't a lot of vibration in the steering and the boots don't seem to be torn so it's missing some of the major signs of failing CV joint that I've read about online. I've jacked up all four tires though and I haven't found any noticable play in any specific wheel that would point towards it being a wheel bearing either. It also doesn't make the same rythmic thump sound while spinning the tires but I hear a click/thump further in than the bearing which I assume is just the internal portion of the axle doing it's thing. Something else I did notice while I had the car jacked up today is that it has an uneven wear pattern on the front tires, the inside edge of the tire on both sides is worn and the outside is less worn but that may be more of a balancing issue and not related, just including in case it matters.

Looking for some advice or other potential symptoms I may not know about that can help point me in a better direction, just trying to avoid needing to replace each bearing/CV axle until I find the right one.
