Anyone else trying to find legit side gigs without drowning in scams?

Okay so I've been on this subreddit for a while now just lurking and honestly I'm a little frustrated. Every time I think I found something real it turns out to be some MLM thing or a guy asking me to pay $97 for his "course" before I can see any details.

I just want to actually make some extra money. Nothing crazy. Just something real I can do on the side that actually pays.

I've tried a couple apps already. Some were fine, some felt sketchy pretty fast. What I noticed is the legit ones are usually boring to talk about — like, nobody's posting "I made $14 doing data entry on Clickworker today" but those people exist and I want to find them.

So I'm putting this out there — what are you actually doing? Not what sounds good, what you're literally getting paid for right now. Doesn't have to be impressive. I don't care if it's $20 a week, I want to know it's real.

A few things I already know to avoid:

anything that wants money upfront

"unlimited earning potential" with zero specifics

DMs from people who just made an account

If you're also in the early stages of figuring this out, feel free to comment too. Would be cool to have a thread that's actually useful instead of the usual noise.
