Suggestions for Pain Management
I'm gonna start by saying that I only really suspect I've got EDS. I haven't gotten a diagnosis, as I don't really know how to go about doing that and have been told its more hassle than its worth. I do know that my mom's side of the family has had diagnosed cases of hEDS, Classical EDS, and cardiac-valvular EDS, according to what my mother knows. And I also know that I've always been a good ways overly flexible, along with having pretty sketchy skin, bendy fingers, loose shoulders, and poor circulation, along with weird scarring. So while i only suspect, I feel like its more unlikely that I *dont* have it
But getting to the point, recently (over the past couple years) a good deal of joint pain has started up. Usually after a lot of activity, or after standing for too long. I got a job working fast food a couple months ago, and could not stand due to the pain after a short 5 hour shift cooking (I am no longer working there). I was managing with naproxen, only taking it when I really needed it to try and avoid reducing the effectiveness, but these past few weeks its gotten pretty bad. I can't really bend over any more, as my back just isnt strong enough to hold me up that way, and about 2/3rds through the day my hips and knees are just killing me. I did little active work today, taking care to rest, and even now, my hips and lower back are aching horribly, and naproxen just is not working anymore, despite my efforts.
What are some suggestions yall might have to handle the daily pain? My house doesn't have a functional bathtub, so an epsom salt bath isnt really an option, and I don't have read access to a doctor, as I cannot drive.
