My friend bought an iPhone 16 about 6 months before I got my iPhone 17.
His cycle count is roughly double mine
He uses his phone more heavily (gaming, video recording, etc.)
I mostly use mine for social media and light use
But here's the confusing part:
His battery health is still at 100%
Mine just dropped to 99%
A few differences I noticed:
He uses the original Apple charger
I use a Samsung charger which I think supports po
From what I understand, battery health depends on heat, charging patterns, and time spent at high charge-not just cycle count. Also, the percentage shown might not update linearly and could drop once it crosses a threshold.
Still, it feels counterintuitive that heavier usage +
more cycles = still 100%, while lighter us age = 99%.
Is this just normal variation/calibration, or could my charging habits/charger actually be causing slightly faster degradation ?
