Hey everyone,my
Looking for some advice on whether this would be a smart upgrade or not.
I currently drive a 2012 Nissan with about 135k miles. It’s been reliable, no accidents, just normal wear and tear.
I’m considering replacing it with a 2010 Lexus IS250C (convertible) that has 113k miles. The asking price is $11.5k, also clean title and no accidents.
On paper it feels like an upgrade (luxury brand, nicer interior, etc.), but I’m not sure if it actually is in terms of long-term ownership.
My main concerns:
Reliability at this mileage

Maintenance/repair costs vs my Nissan

Whether the convertible top becomes a headache

Overall value for the price

From what I’ve read, Lexus is generally reliable, but I’ve also seen some mentions of issues like carbon buildup and convertible-related problems.
Would you consider this:
A smart upgrade

A lateral move

Or actually a downgrade financially/reliability-wise?

Appreciate any insight, especially from people who’ve owned an IS250C or made a similar switch.
