Hey everyone,

I’ve been shooting on the Sony FX30 and noticed something that’s been bothering me. I shot using S-Log3 + S-Gamut Cine at ISO 2500 (which I understand is the second base ISO), but I’m still seeing pretty noticeable noise in my footage.

What’s confusing is that the frame I’m sharing has ample light, so it doesn’t feel like a low-light limitation.

A few details:

  • Picture Profile: S-Log3 / S-Gamut Cine
  • ISO: 2500
  • Lighting: Decently lit scene (not dark, good amount of light in the shot)
  • Exposure: Tried to keep it properly exposed, but might be slightly under in parts

Is this normal for the FX30, or am I missing something here?
Could it be exposure technique (like not overexposing S-Log3 enough), or something else like noise reduction, codec, or lighting quality?

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who’s used the FX30 or similar Sony cameras.

Thanks!
