Hello everyone! just joined this subreddit after lurking the last few days. Unfortunately, my 2018 Colorado Z71 is in the process of being totaled by my insurance provider. While it hasn't been made official. From what I see from the damage and what the adjust received from photos it's a total loss. Unfortunately, I was rearended by a 17-year-old kid in a jacked up F150. The bed was pushed into the cab and there are obvious signs of frame damage, and he pushed me into the vehicle in front me in rush hour traffic. His reasoning him and his buddies were late for a haircut, but I won't get into that. I'm devastated I love this truck and never had and issues aside from a bad thermostat which was an easy fix. I planned on keeping this truck forever. I've been actively looking for the same model year. I've had a hard time find a Z71 worth the price vs the mileage. I've been looking at 2023 models they fit my budget and a really like the updated interiors. Plan on looking for a LT Trail Boss this time can anyone give me some personal input on them. From my own research I've found that this model year has a good motor which is now the 4-cylinder turbo and the transmission is good. Most complaints come from software withing the truck is this true, or would you recommend a different year? I don't do any heavy towing I have small fiberglass boat and would load my ATV occasionally. Most things I can find online point to horror stories which is all you usually find online. However, I'd like to hear from people that are enjoying the truck or have had issues that seem reasonable.
