I'd like to make an AEW fighting game
Okay, let me preface this by saying, this is an idea I had based off of a post I saw on X recently.
My idea for the game would be based off the first mortal kombat game mixed with King of Fighters- a 2D side scroll fighting game with all the violence.
As for the character looks, I'd go with animated versions of the wrestlers instead of renderings due to how expensive it would be.
Now I have 3 modes in the game:
- Championship/story/sports mode- this is where the player would have 2 stages (at first) being the world championships and the tnt/tbs title. The champions would be bosses. And when you win, for example, the tnt/tbs championship, which to challenge for, you'd need 10 straight wins; you'd have to defend your championship and once you lose it, you're back to the bottom. To qualify for a world championship match, 20 straight wins. If you lose, you go back and climb up again. As for locations, when you win a championship, you unlock lots of new locations.
- Free mode- this is where there's no story and the player can play all sorts of plunder/gimmick matches with various locations available to them.
- Faction mode- this is where the roster increases. You can select existing factions or build factions yourself with the intent of being the top guys in the company. There are the tag team belts and the trios belts which are both intergender in the game. Max of 5 teammates.
Now as for the roster, I'd start with 20. 10 men and 10 women.

Then when it comes to the International and Continental titles, these will be "special stages" triggered by particular actions in game based on stats.
The Continental Classic will be where the belt is defended against 11 other wrestlers and the International title will be an invitational tournament featuring guest wrestlers from different promotions specifically.
Their maps will be different and most of their rosters too. If you lose, you'd be kicked out of the stage.
I'd like ideas, and just general thoughts.
