Go into teaching or continue to apply for engineering jobs?

Hi, I currently do an administrative finance role in the UK. I have a first class engineering degree from a top university which I achieved in 2025.

I’ve been applying to Engineering graduate jobs only in the North West of the UK as thats where I want to stay. Recently I’ve been made an offer to teach maths at high school.

I‘m thinking of going the teaching route because I always seem to fail at the last stage of the graduate engineering application process and don’t see how it would improve as I get further away from when I completed my degree.

My question is should I continue to apply for Engineering jobs and decline the teaching option (maybe reapply next year) or should I get into teaching maths at high school? What would be good from a financial and/or career standpoint?

Thank you for your time.
