For context, I own a 09 v6 Mustang, haven’t had any issues other than a sensor(fuel rail pressure sensor). I was driving it and tried to go in reverse the other day, and it went forward. Damn near shitted myself because I’m thinking my trans is fucked. But I thought I put it in the wrong gear and I look down and it’s in reverse. So I put it in drive, went forward, put it in park, and it STILL was moving, then I just let it sit in park, pulled the ebrake up and it sat there. Turned it off, then turned it on and tried to crank and it wouldn’t, but it was still getting power because of the accessories. Scanned and no codes came up, so I towed it back home and bought a new shifter thinking that was the problem, put the new one in and it didn’t fix it, so I’m thinking it’s a starter or alternator issue. I also want to try and replace my positive terminal and cable that connects to it. Just let me know if you guys have any idea of what it could be before I take it to a shop.

So for context, as the title says. My bf currently has a evo 8. He blew the motor last fall and has put a lot of money into the new motor he has, he has replaced EVERYTHING, and it won’t start. But it cranks. He’s being getting stressed about it and doesn’t wanna take it to a shop unless it’s a professional one. I’ve been trying to research about it but with my knowledge of owning a mustang, I can’t say much of what his problem is? He says it’s could be a crank or cam shaft sensor but he replaced them both? even swapped them out for other ones to see if it was those. The goal here is to get his car to read rpm, and it’s not doing so. Please let me know if any of you know what you think it
