Hey,

I'm installing an integrated microwave to our IKEA kitchen (SPJUTBO 300 model, if interested) and need to run the cable behind the already installed IKEA cupboard to the nearest outlet.

Which would be the better solution?

Cutting the cable in half, routing it behind the IKEA cupboard, and splicing the wires together (with original plug)
Cutting the plug off, routing the cable, adding ferrules, and installing a completely new 16A plug

The plug will probably never be handled again as it'll stay behind the cupboard.

I've messed around with electronics and have spliced a fair bit in my life (thanks to my cats lol), however I'm by no means an expert in this field.

What would be the better option?
