One of the things that stood out to me was how as Dafyd becomes this bridge between the Carryx and the human moiety he has to really evolve into the role and it's all under so much pressure. I don't think he's power hungry but he's trying to keep his people alive and leaning authoritarian because the environment demands it. Does anyone else find him sympathetic?
I'm really enjoying reading his pov and watching him evolve. It's so easy for the Carryx to adapt and start over and he's doing forced into adapting as well... He's becoming more Carryx day by day just to keep his people alive.
I talk a little bit about it in a YT video if anyone is looking for some The Captive's War content 💜 hope this is ok mods.
