Scammers are running deceptive ads and interviews and will send you a fake check. Please do not engage with them on Microsoft Teams or gmail.

Scammers are posting jobs on Upwork for a job at Oxford Editing that are fake. The scammers then transition to Microsoft Teams (which means out of Upwork's control) where they will conduct interviews, who pretend to represent Oxford Editing. They've created a fake website with information they copied from the Oxford Editing site, which may be what they registered with Upwork to get a "verified" check. They will offer to send you a check, which you should destroy and not catch. They're operating under the radar on both platforms. All fake names, not using the correct email address (like for Microsoft Teams, and you're supposed to do all contract work on Upwork, not leave the site).
