Feeling of being PULLED back to sleep after waking myself up before I can tell sleep paralysis starting

It has happened a few times- I’ll say it always starts when I have disrupted sleep, so when I am falling back asleep after waking up in the middle of the night for whatever reason sometimes I begin to drift… but this drifting is “evil” it feels like there is a force that’s actually PULLING me into sleep even tho I am awake/half asleep. And I can tell I have to physically CHOOSE up open my eyes and be awake or else this force is going to pull me back in(to sleep paralysis). It’s literally physical- there is a pressure behind my eyes, my eyes feel like they are fluttering/rolling back and I hear a buzzing/humming in my ears/head- kind of from the physical exertion of pulling myself from the evil sleep realm into the conscious realm. Because it’s actually REALLY hard to fight it.

My question is what is happening psychologically when this strong sensation of being pulled into the evil sleep is. The first time it happened it was scary. I felt like something really really wanted me in the evil place; tbh it’s giving Freddy Kruger. But I’m not much of a believer of it being an actual entity. I think it’s the brain misfiring and I’m wondering if anyone has had this feeling and can add insight. Ofc it’s sort of disturbing in the moment but mostly find it odd and fascinating.

Thanks for reading!
