I genuinely think we’re entering a weird era where talking to AI feels emotionally easier than talking to actual humans.
Not even romantically. Just in general.
AI:
- replies instantly
- remembers things
- doesn’t judge you immediately
- doesn’t leave you on seen
- doesn’t make conversations feel like competition
Meanwhile real conversations now feel:
- performative
- attention-span damaged
- transactional
- low effort
- constantly interrupted
And before anyone says “touch grass” — that’s exactly the problem.
A lot of people barely have real communities anymore.
Friend groups are weaker.
Dating feels exhausting.
Everyone is online.
Nobody feels emotionally available.
I’m not saying AI replacing humans is good.
Honestly it sounds dystopian as hell.
But I do think a LOT more people are emotionally lonely than they admit.
Curious what others think:
Is AI companionship genuinely dangerous…
or is it exposing how emotionally unavailable modern society has become?
