I actually ended up joining Reddit just to ask this...

I came across this scene from Secret Lover again, and it hit a bit different this time... since knowing the actors are (reportedly) dating. Compared to my first watch months ago, this time I felt like there was an extra layer to my enjoyment of it.

It made me think about other pairings people talk about, like OffGun, BillyBabe, where the line between acting, fan service and real-life chemistry can feel kind of blurred. A lot of BL promotion leans into fan service... teasing, skinship, interviews tha play things up... all to build interest and keep us invested in the pairing.

So when there’s a possibility that something might be real, it almost changes how those scenes come across. Right?

I’m curious how everyone else feels about this...

Do you think knowing or believing that actors might be dating changes how you experience a series?

Would love to hear different perspectives on this.
