Hello guys,
I’m having an issue with my Jetta GLI (2023) after changing to Brembo brake pads. The car only has 10.5k miles, so this seems a bit early for this kind of problem. I started noticing that the braking performance drops significantly once the brakes heat up. When cold, it feels normal, but after a few harder stops, the pedal feels less effective and the car doesn’t slow down as expected. I checked the rotors and they look like this:
· Dark patches / uneven spots on the rotor surface
· Some areas look almost “glassy”
· Light circular scoring
From what I’ve researched, this looks like:
· Uneven pad material transfer
· Possible pad/rotor glazing
A few details:
· Pads: Brembo (street use, not track)
· Rotors: OEM
· No proper bedding procedure was done after install
Questions:
Does this look like classic glazing / uneven transfer? Can this be fixed with sanding + proper bedding, or is it already too far gone?Would you recommend resurfacing the rotors or just replacing everything?Could this be caused by pad/disc incompatibility?
Appreciate any insights
