Here is the breakdown and information as I have come to learn it...
You will not get throttled at any time over the month BUT each plan has a limit from the start...
This applies to the hotspot data ONLY
25 dollar a month plan = 5Mb/sec ~ 0.625MB/sec ~ 625KB/sec
35 dollar a month plan = 10Mb/sec ~ 1.25MB/sec ~ 1250KB/sec
45 dollar a month plan = 15Mb/sec ~ 1.87MB/sec ~ 1875KB/sec
(those are the numbers they put in the 'fine print', I get a lot higher speeds but that could be because of my router)
Even the cheapest plan is more than enough to have several devices on the hotspot at once, if every single device is going to be steady streaming video I would get the 30 or 40 dollar a month and you could have over 5 devices at once all watching videos. Also keep in mind that does not include the main device which has 10 times the bandwidth in reserve for its own use.
You can use your own phone or buy a new one through them, they offer an e-sim so you can do everything same day if you want. The website pretty much walks you through everything you need and has a help bot that will connect to a person if you ask it.

So you could get 20 dollars off your 2nd month but if you plan on keeping it more than a few months I would go with the 5 dollars off every month which is obviously 60 dollars after 12 months.
I had been with AT&T for over 20 years, I was grandfathered in to an unlimited data and hotspot plan I got way before the iPhone even came out. However the price kept going up every year by like 5 bucks (it adds up) and I was paying 105 a month. After a couple conversations with ungrateful representatives I was looking to switch to another company and I kept seeing those cheap phone plan commercials on tv... Well I tried a few other places and ended up with Visible which is on the Verizon network and I am super happy, I really wish I had done this a very long time ago. I kept getting told by everyone (even AI) that unlimited hotspot with no throttling and no caps did not exsist. I was under the same impression which is why I did not swtich from at&t sooner and lose what I thought was the only unlimited hotspot plan I could get.
So this probably sounds like a bad advertisement, and I will admit if you use my referral code you get 20 dollars off your second month and I get 20 dollars off my bill.
