Hi everyone,

I’ve been working as an operations manager at a health clinic. I have my BS in healthcare admin and I’m currently working toward my master’s. Before this, I had about a year of experience plus two internships.

I was hired part-time at $28/hr (25 hours/week) with the understanding it would become full-time as the clinic grew. It’s now been 7 months. After I asked for my 6-month review (and mentioned I started interviewing), they decided to increase my hours by 5 hours per quarter, so I will be full time 9/1.

I have my 6 month review this week and I’ve been told by my boss not to ask for a raise from the owner. I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I should still try to push for more pay or hours. At 30 hours I’m making around 43k and it’s getting hard to live off of in the Northeast. My role includes billing/collections, insurance verification, scheduling, referrals, front desk oversight, outreach, and coordinating neuropsych testing. The clinic has hired 3 therapist since I started and fired 3. This week we have 4 starting.

Not sure if I should just deal with it or push for more, would appreciate advice.
