Well that didn't go planned..

Had my Hysterectomy this morning. I have extremely heavy periods and I was just done. When the surgeon came out afterwards to talk to my husband, she said pretty much that everything was stuck to everything.

The uterus stuck to the abdominal wall, intestines were stuck to the uterus and Bowel was stuck to an ovary.

Not the pain level I was expecting to wake up to. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

My surgery is scheduled for next Friday. I'm nervous but excited at the same time. Having a hysterectomy because I have really heavy periods, even with birth control. I'm curious, how was everyone's recovery and what type of surgery did you have? Did you have to stay the night? The current plan is robotic with a 1 night stay. However I do have a fibroid that has been known to cause issues in the past. During my 2nd c-section it had attached to my intestines and had to be detached. The surgeon told me they will have someone on call if it happens to do something like that again and will switch to an open surgery . Also she told me if there is a lot of scar tissue from the 2 c sections that I've had, she will have to switch to an open surgery.
